Abstract Painting Workshop

Adult Workshop: Sunday 2nd October 2022, 10am - 4pm,
Insight School of Art, Whetstone, N20 9DB

I am excited to be hosting a hands on workshop at Insight School of Art, where I will be sharing my tips and techniques of what makes a good abstract painting. Abstract art is all about creative expression and can be a great way to let go of preconceived notions and allow yourself to explore new creative possibilities.

During this workshop, I will be teaching students how to use various techniques to create their own abstract paintings; Attendees will learn about the use of colour, composition, conversation and contrast in their art. I hope that attendees of this workshop will leave with a greater understanding of abstract art and the creative process. I believe that anyone can create a beautiful abstract painting, regardless of their previous experience in this genre!

The day will start with a short presentation about my practice and inspiration followed by a demonstration where I will reveal some of my painting process. The majority of the time in the morning will be devoted to taking part in a series of fast paced drawing and painting exercises, helping students to loosen up their painting technique and find their own personal colour palette and signature marks.

After lunch, participants will spend the afternoon applying their new skills and knowledge either on canvas or paper.

There are two price options for this workshop; one for students who wish to only work on paper, and another for students who wish to make one of their paintings on a 1m x 1m or 1m x 1.2m deep stretched canvas, to take home and display on their wall.

Bookings and further details can be seen via Insight School of Art.
